About

Electra Barakos is a Los Angeles-born, Athens-raised singer, songwriter and recording artist whose sound blends the power and attitude of rock with melodic vocals and a classical touch. Inspired by her father, a professional bass player, she began her musical journey at six years old and had written and recorded her first song by eight.

Growing up in Greece, Electra performed with a professional children's choir, sang for the Greek Prime Minister, and attended a performing arts high school in Athens. She then returned to Los Angeles for further musical studies and holds a Bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in Opera.

As a solo artist she has released the EP Problem Child and the full-length album These Times, recorded with producer Mike Plotnikoff (Papa Roach, Kelly Clarkson, Halestorm). The album includes "I Can't Breathe," featuring Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X on guitar and bouzouki.

She has shared the stage with Lita Ford, Berlin, Missing Persons, Great White, Jared Lee and Dilana, and played the Sunset Strip Music Festival in 2010 (alongside Smashing Pumpkins, Slash and Neon Trees) and 2011 (alongside Mötley Crüe, Public Enemy and Bush). She was also a finalist on Season 2 of The Voice of Greece.

New single "Lies" is coming soon. Hard rock meets classical-influenced vocals.
